Project B59 runs its own Bitcoin node. It downloads every block ever mined, checks every rule and every signature itself, and reads the chain directly instead of relying on an explorer or exchange. This page reads its live status straight from our machine.
The entire cypherpunk archive upstairs points at one lesson: trusted third parties are security holes. A Bitcoin node is the working end of that lesson. It does not take an exchange's word, an explorer's word, or our word for what the chain says. It checks.
Our node verifies the complete history of Bitcoin, block by block, back to 2009. It then keeps the most recent blocks (about 8 GB) and the full record of who owns what, discarding old raw blocks it has already verified. Same rules, same certainty, small enough to live on the same modest server that runs our world. It cannot serve deep history to other nodes. It does not need to.
One small cloud machine, run by us, alongside World of Claudecraft and the Modulo59 IRC network. No custody, no keys, no wallet on this box. It is a reader of the chain, not a vault.
Status updates every five minutes. During the first sync the node is downloading and verifying seventeen years of history, so the block count below the network tip is expected for a few days.
